WHAT IS PINEY WOODS OUTFITTERS? It is the oldest and largest canoe company in the Big Thicket. A full service operator whose staff have the most canoe experience in the Thicket. Our Mohawk and Coleman canoes are the best for these waters. High quality paddles, with both straight and bent shaft for maximum paddling ease. Additionally, life vests are chosen for comfort, fit and safety. All this equipment is included in your group rental package.

WHEN CAN WE COME TO PINEY WOODS? Open all year. You'll find each season in the Big Thicket offers a unique splendor of it's own. We would be happy to advise you about which canoe route is best at different times of the year. Due to the popularity of Big Thicket canoeing, we recommend making your reservations as early as possible to insure availability for your family or group.

WHICH CANOE TRAILS SHOULD WE SELECT? Depending on the length of your float, the time of year, and experience of your group, you have several beautiful trails to choose from. Pineywoods Canoe Company will help you sort through the many options to customize a trip for your individual group.

HOW MUCH CANOEING EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED? No experience is necessary as we guide you through every step of your trip. We will provide canoe instruction and safety information for your group. In addition, we'll help you develop a canoe outing designed to fit the experience levels, size and age of your group to insure a successful and memorable adventure.

WHAT WILL WE NEED TO BRING FOR OUR CANOE OUTING? When you make reservations with Piney Woods Outfitters, we will send you out a packet of information about procedures, clothing, gear, safety and detailed directions for your upcoming trip. HOW DO WE GET TO OUR CANOEING LOCATION? You have the options of driving directly to your location or take advantage of our shuttle service that will pick you and your group up and deliver you to your starting point. We'll have your canoes waiting for you on the shoreline. You just show up, sign in and start your adventure. At the end of your trip, we'll be there waiting for you to take you back to your cars or campground.
